We are committed to building expertise in medico-legal work and trauma-informed practice.

Our training and professional development programme includes:

  • Introductory Training: Covering asylum law, the Istanbul Protocol, refugee health, and the impact of trauma.
  • Shadowing Opportunities: New MLR writers are supported by experienced clinicians and receive structured feedback.
  • Ongoing CPD: Regular peer groups, supervision, and case discussions ensure continuous professional learning.
  • External Workshops: We work with lawyers, caseworkers, and NGOs to strengthen understanding of medico-legal evidence in asylum and human rights law.
